Vox Wah question

I have the Vox wah. (847 I think it is) I tore it down and rolled the tone pot up some to try and bring up some lows. Now, unlike my usual AR self, I didnt note or mark my starting point, I just cranked it up some and put it back together. Does anyone know where the starting point is? Meaning, if I wanted to set it back to stock, would I roll the pot all the way off?

Re: Vox Wah question

I don't know the answer to your question but I have been frustrated with low end loss when using wah (Vox and some others). The solution may just be a different wah. I really like my RMC Wizard Wah because it does not seem to kill my low end and yet it still gives that great resonance and is super responsive. Wilson Effects and Mission Engineering also make wahs which have presets to improve bass response, although I haven't tried them.

Re: Vox Wah question

I would start by rolling the pot all the way to the treble position, then back off one tooth on the gear (so the pot isn't damaged by hitting the end of it's rotation). Then, check the sound, if you want to adjust it back it off one tooth at a time, until you get the tonal range you want.
