A couple of weeks ago I asked On here about the Fryette Pittbull CL100 and here she is. This thing is an absolute monster.

Also I originally posted this thread in the trading post for some reason so I've deleted the old one and put it here. Apologies to people who commented before.

Thats one of my dream rigs right their except I woulda got Ultra Lead or Sig X. Which cab did you get the fat bottom or the Deliverance?

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (High Gain NAD)

Yeah man it's the fatbottom. This thing is so tight. I goose it a bit with an EP booster just to make it sag a touch. To be fair I bet the UL is even less compressed than this CL which is not what I'm looking for.

Welcome to the club!

Do you prefer the red or green channel?

I prefer the red channel for high gain rhythms and use the boost switch for solos. The green I set up cleanish. The parametric eq is awesome. It can change the tone and feel of the amp with the slightest of adjustment.

You shoulda went with the Deliverance cab. It's not as tight as the Fat Bottom but still pretty tight.

Had no choice in the matter. It was a trade deal. Besides, VHT/Fryette stuff is non existent round here. I played a gig the other night and after soundcheck the guitarist in the support band comes over to me and is creaming over my tone from the Pittbull. He asked about it because he's never heard of Fryette or VHT. Turns out he only works at PMT which is UK's version of guitar center and he's never even heard of VHT/Fryette!

Yea they aren't really that well known. I didn't know about them till a couple months ago when I was looking for a multi channel amp that is super tight and articulate and someone recommended Fryette. I like the way they are very articulate and not heavily saturated like other high gain amps you always here every note.

Congrats! About a decade ago when I was first dreaming and drooling over high-end gear the VHT Pitbull was one of those that just seemed to ooze mojo. I have only seen maybe one Fryette amp around here over the last few years so I am super curious to hear how this thing sounds.

Clips!

Thanks guys. I remember I used to get Guitar World all the time in the early 2000s and I think it was StaticX were in there. That japanese dude was stood in front of his rig and he had an Ultra Lead. Right then I said to myself owning one would be so cool. Soon as I plugged it in I had to have it.
I've had a 5150 for years and it's a great amp but some rooms and venues sound awesome, other places it can sound pretty bad. This Pittbull sounds consistent in all the different places we play. Even the well over sound proofed rehearsal room we play in where it'd kill the 5150s punch and make it sound boxy can't kill the Pittbull. I love it.

Congrats! My 1993 UL was a grail amp for me and will always be a permanent fixture in my collection.
