Wah issue!

I have been recording stuff with my wah pedal this morning. I was giving a first shot at the lead part of the first song I am writing (I'll post it when it will be at a stage I am happy with). So I wanted to throw in some wah.

Man, the amount of noise this pedal is producing is appalling! It just completely bury the recording.

I am using a boss FW-3. Is my problem inherent to the wah effect, or just the crappiness of this unit? Do you usually need a noise gate when using a wah for recording?

Is it only noisey when it's in it's full toe down(trebly) position? It should hiss but it shouldn't be noisey w/buzzing or hum...You could have a bad connection or dirty jacks? Possibly a bad pot also.

Re: Wah issue!

It is kind of buzzing all the time but it is getting worst when it is fully depressed (toes up).

Re: Wah issue!

Mine was doing the same thing uesterday while in the studio, when the whole thing started cutting out (during a take), bringing the amp along with it, I unpluged it and threw it out of my site.

Not that I'm useful for this kind of stuff, but I think it's a bad pot on mine.

If you guys have a buddy that has a wah,try substituting their wah pot with your's....Just 4 wires to the pot..
