Wah Pedal

Hey guys been a while since my last post just wondering what everyone thought was a good wah pedal.. i mean all i want it for is the Battery solo.. and may be some cool wah stuff.

Re: Wah Pedal

I use a fulltone clyde, and I really like the longer sweep and vintage-wah type sound (not overly harsh). However, when this question is asked most hardcore toneheads recommend one of the Teese wahs. These are both at the high end of things, but I've never seen anyone who isn't satisfied with them.

Re: Wah Pedal

Dunlop 95Q Cry Baby, when I want to go Zakk Wylde crazy.

Re: Wah Pedal

For standard stuff, I like my Dunlop CFH wah (basically a hot rodded 535q).

Still, I really want to try the Teese RMC3 wah... it's gotten too many great reviews to not be incredible.

Re: Wah Pedal

I've never heard of the Teese wahs... anyone have anymor info on them.. like where to get and the likes

Re: Wah Pedal

I love my RMC-1 Teese Wah

at $99, though, the Dunlop Crybaby Classic might be worth checking out for a little less $$$

Re: Wah Pedal

I have an RMC 2. It's great. they are handmade by this one dude in a garage. He sells through dealers and many big names use these because they are the best for tone and flexibility. the inventor really just went over the top in getting everything to be vintage tone, but with the ajustability that modern players need. they cost big bank though (mine was $250), and if you are going to only be using it part time, it might be a waste of cash. I liked my VOX wah for general playability and tone before that. I had a lot of problems with my first wah (crybaby) - it had bad switching, and the f'ing thing picked up chinese radio broadcasts too.

Re: Wah Pedal

does anybody know how the jimi hendrix crybaby compares the the classic VOX wah(V847)?

i have the 535q and i like it but i LOVE the sound of the hendrix wah. is the vox like it?

Re: Wah Pedal

I've played almost every high-end wah pedal I could get my hands on including the Teese and Fulltone. They were nice, but I still prefer my beat to sh*t 535Q.

Re: Wah Pedal

If you can swing the extra dough, the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe is the best wah I have ever owned. I bought one of the first batch of Vox Wahs imported into the USA from the only Vox dealer in Michigan at the time (about '66...) and I've owned lots of Wah's since then. The Fulltone is the only one that nails the tone of that first Wah I owned...actually, it's even better! Lew

Re: Wah Pedal

I have a Vintage Crybaby, A Thomas organ Co. model, I also have a Vox V847. But the one I use most is a Vox Clyd McCoy. I love this Wah better than all the others!

I have a Teese picture wah. If you want to know how it sounds, it can be heard during the 2 solos of this song - at 2:00 - 2:17 mark and again from 4:28 - song end. I didn't do any heavy sweeping with the wah (ala 1970's wacka wacka porn theme music), just used it mostly half opened-fully opened.

Tune with Picture Wah in 2 solos

Re: Wah Pedal

Yep great pedal..original crybaby and if you got it second hand you'd pay next to nothing...

Re: Wah Pedal

You will NOT get the tones Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton got on thier classic '67 era recordings with a Thomas Organ Vox Wah. Nor with a Crybaby. Not even with a Vox V847.

For THAT 1967 tone you need one voiced like a '66 or '67 Vox Clyde....either the Fulltone Clyde, an original Vox Clyde or maybe the reissue Vox Clyde, haven't tried one. Maybe the Teese will deliver the goods too...haven't tried that one either.

Re: Wah Pedal

I use the Crybaby 95Q. I had a vintage '68 Crybaby back in 1985 a buddy of mine sold to me for $40. But, sadly I sold it soon after marrying my first wife. :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:

That's the same one I use - I love it! I like it way more than all the others I've tried, although I've never tried a Fulltone or a Teese.

Personally I think Crybaby's are too weak and don't have enough edge to them. The Vox Clyde McCoy is really nice if you have the money.

Re: Wah Pedal

Vox 847 and Dunlop Crybaby are the ones I use. Stock, I prefer the Vox as it gives me a bit more bass in the frequency. But I luv 'em both!
