Warmoth Custom Pickguards

Have any of you used a Warmoth pckguard with a JB Trembucker?

Should I order one with Wamoth''s "Trembucker" cutout, or should I choose the "Fat Trembucker" option?

I found the tech drawing with the JB's dimensions on Duncan's site, but the drawing shows the measurement from one side of the bobbin top to the other. My JB is fatter than the bobbi tops because of the 4-conductor wire that is run halfway around the pickup under the black tape. IT always gets stuck in stock guards....Would the Warmoth be any dfferent? If so, whch cutout?

P.S. How is the quality compared to USA Fender stuff? I am thinking about brown tortoise for my HSS Strat, and white pearly for my HH Strat. Do they look good in person, or are they cheesy like the Chinese crap from eBay?

Re: Warmoth Custom Pickguards

I got a strat pickgard cut with a normal Trembucker route, and I have a Custom trembucker/TB-5 loaded in it. Fits perfectly. But then, the 4 conductor cable comes out the bottom of the baseplate, like it's supposed to.

One thing I don't understand is that the regular Trembucker route is actually slightly wider than the Fat Trembucker route. My guess is that the Fat Trembucker route is meant for pickups without covers (hence the more rounded corners) and the Trembucker route is meant for pickups with nickel or plastic covers, hence the small radius corners.

As far as quality, no complaints at all, they are absolutely on par with high end pickguards.

Your best bet in terms of fit is to measure your pickup and see how much space it needs. Then go here: http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/StratPickguard.aspx
and scroll all the way down. The dimensions of each type of route are listed there.

Here is my Black Pearl pickguard. It's a bit hard to tell from these pics, but the figuring of the pearl material is VERY 3D looking.

Trembucker route will allow for one with a cover.
Fat Trembucker route will only accept one without a cover.

Wow Drama Dude, that is nice!

Thanks to all for chiming in.

I'm gonna pull the trigger. I'll post pics when it's one.

Wow! They got it to me a lot quicker than I thought. Man, this thing is NICE! The shell has that mile-deep look to it. Sorry the cheezy iPad camera just doesn't do it justice!

Thanks again for your help, guys. I'm glad I did it.

I'm glad i searched the forums first instead of just posting the exact same question. Thanks for the info guys. I'll try to post pics when I'm done with my HH strat. It's a TB-59 in the bridge.
