They Seem Pricey... Are They Worth The Money?

Im Thinking About Building A Es335 From The Parts They Make.

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

I don't think they make an ES335 shape.

But you'll get mixed reviews about Warmoth here, for various reasons.

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

I like Warmoth for some things.

You might be able to get a similar shape to a 335 using Warmoth parts, but the construction will be all wrong. I'd rather get an Epi Dot, or something along those lines. Something with a similar construction.

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

never heard of them?

Lol seriously we have beaten this one to death if you do a search. And i mean to DEATH.

cheers!

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

Love mine. If you know exactly what you want, and how to assemble/set up a guitar well, you'll be happy. I also recommend building something you can't get by a manufacturer, and something you plan to keep.

I Like Your Picture. I Have Never Heard Of Celtic Amplifiers... What Does The Toggle Switch Do?

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

i have a wonderful neck from Warmoth... it's a standard 10 inch radius, Warmoth modern rod construction neck, Maple with rosewood board.... 1 11/16 nut width.. 6105 frets... finnished in vintage tint nitro oddly enough by a local tech....

my neck is from about 1995/96... it was part of a custom guitar build i had a local guitar maker throw together for me... if you order Warmoth parts have an experienced tech put the guitar together!!! a quality bone nut, and fret dress plus a great set up will make it one great custom guitar...

i want to do another Warmoth build.... based around a FRO bridge since you can not buy very many quality guitars with quality Floyds these days...

my Warmoth custom build cost me a small fortune back in 1995/96... more then a Fender ever would of... and that custom kit guitar i own is worth low bucks on the resale market... an American Fender from the same year would of had a higher resale value... A Warmoth parts guitar is not worth a lot if you have to sell the guitar...

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

In my opinion Warmoth (and other parts brands) work well for fenders because essentially fenders are parts guitars whereas gibsons and similar tend to be more of a craft and are less like the originals when in part form (mainly due to bolt on neck vs set neck).

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

I've built a couple of Warmoths. Sold them both!

The problem with kit guitars, at least for me, is two fold: there's no possible way to try the guitar before you buy the guitar...AND: low resale value.

That said, I have played some Warmoth Strats that were wonderful guitars.

I wasn't so lucky with mine though...they looked great but even though they were light in weight and theoretically should have been keepers, they were just average in terms of resonance and lacked that elusive lively quality that makes for a truly great guitar.

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

I've built well over a dozen instruments with Warmoth parts. More often than not people seem to under estimate the importance of 1)Selecting the proper woods/components and 2) The skill required to assemble it. They select a bunch of untested wood combinations and control layouts because its "custom" and them half ass the assembly and wonder why it sucks. The parts are a relatively small part of the equation its the planning design phase and the assembly/setup that make all the difference

Did Warmoth do the finishing on both of those guitars?

Re: Warmoth Guitar Company?

another +1

but they wont make your 335 style. if you have to go warmoth then i would get the parts from them and have them finished by some1 else. warmoth put a super thick poly coat on their stuff

Super thick is an understatement! This is one of those things that gives poly a bad name.
