Warmoth recessed tun-o-matic option...... opinions????

Hi everyone, im thinking about building my own guitar. All the files have been
drawn and made in 3d and are ready for a friend of mine who has a cnc machine. Now neither of us have done a guitar before so we are trying to keep the process as simple as possible. Its a neck thru design and if we go down the recessed TOM design that Warmoth offers it would take care of the neck angle, not needing one at all. Are there any issues that would come from this type of design, and has anyone played a guitar with this setup on it before?
Being the string angle off the saddles wont be as great is there enough tension there to keep then from jumping out of the saddles?

Any opinions would be of great help!

Thanks

Not a warmoth, i built this one myself. It does however have a recessed TOM bridge and it plays great. No problems with tension or strings popping out anywhere. Its actually my fave hardtail set up.

Im also pretty sure warmoth wouldnt offer it if it were really prone to problems.

I say go for it and i think you will dig it.

Nice guitar and thanks for the fast response! Can i ask how deep your route
is? I was planning on a 4mm deep recess, would that be enough to allow
good travel of adjustment?

Thanks again!

I have that rout in my Warmoth, it works just fine. Prefer it to a stoptail.

My recess probably isnt any more than 4-5mm. Off the top of my head im not sure exactly

I had a recessed tone-o-matic on my Music Man Steve Morse. Worked well.

Personally I don't like the Nashvilles with their metal anchors in the guitar top, I'd use an ABR-1 with ABR-1 posts.

If it's anything like Carvin's setup it's the second best hardtail set up next to a recessed Ibanez Gibraltar for me.

It's what they do on the Carvin California series guitars and it is phenomenal. I have a Carvin CS4 and I absolutely adore that guitar...
