Washburn Maverick Series BT-2: Trying to ID a beginner's guitar

Okay, I am about to sell a beginner's guitar. It's a Washburn Maverick Series BT-2. WHERE is the serial number and, if I find it, how do I determine the year of manufacture? It's NOT on the back of the headstock. Eyeballing it, I can see it's not that old. (Also, I pulled the Grover pegs and am going back in with sealed Godins).

The serial number would have been printed on a small, self-adhesive paper label. (I kid you not!) Vigorous cleaning or polishing would have been enough to remove the label.

You have correctly identified the Grovers as the single best thing about the instrument. IMO, the Cheepnis of the guitar makes it an excellent candidate for slide.

According to one guy, they were manufactured from 1997 through 1999. The mystery continues... Guess I'll be doing some Googling...

Official word from Washburn: 1997 - 2003 (Korea). I guess they shipped the pegs over there, installed them, and shipped 'em back for selling.
