what do you guys think about this one? it' mahogany, set neck, sd pups...it's fairly cheap, not bad looking either. any feedback is appreciated.

Re: washburn x50 pro

I kinda like the headstock, maybe a little to frilly but not horrible like a Dean or something.

To be honest the only thing I hate is the X on the fret board. I'm kinda anal on fret board designs and think a lot of companies screw up guitars with ugly inlays.

Re: washburn x50 pro

Actually, I like it a lot. It's been on my short list of dream guitars for a quite a while.

Everything I've read on the Washburn forum says that it's a dream to play as well.

I would get it.

Re: washburn x50 pro

well, it also comes in a version without the x, but somehow i think i like it. i also read on the forums that it's a great guitar but what puzzles me is the price (550 euros), which is pretty cheap for what this guitar is supposed to be.

Re: washburn x50 pro

well here, I'll help ya out...Buy it....and if you don't like it....Get rid of it!..it's not like you're spending a Fortune anyways!:D

Re: washburn x50 pro

Hell, I like the headstock. And the X. But my aesthetic sensibilities are not the same as many people's on these forums. That said, I can think of no reason why you shouldn't buy it if you like it. It's a pretty legit-lookin' axe, to be sure.

Re: washburn x50 pro

there is also an ibanez sz model that is almost identical but with different headstock, crappier pu's and it is more expensive. however they don't have it in the store, so i guess i'll just go with this one. i just hope it's not neck heavy 'cause of the large headstock.

I will say that my Washburn Idol is headstock heavy and uncomfortable with a basic strap. I use a wider leather strap and that works very well for me.

Re: washburn x50 pro

I played one a few months ago in the music store. Definately plays very well for the price--better than the Ibby SZs IMO. Also try and find a Korean Dean hardtail or vendetta, and a Schecter C-1. Buy the best one for you.
