Said he was using acrylic paint for all of it, which is just plastic and not sturdy against damage at all. You could probably remove the entire paint job in 30 minutes with a butter knife.
While I applaud his, or anyone's, creativity, I would never consider buying any of those (either to play or to hang on a wall). I probably wouldn't even accept one if it was given to me...I've already got way too many gorgeous guitars and not enough room for them.
That he made them functional is interesting, but like I said - how durable, or not, are they? Can they handle just sitting and playing in street clothes at home?
At $850 for parts casters - yeah...a bit steep for the guitar and for just art.
This kind of look would actually fit really well for the band I play bass with, if we ever get back on stage, but the idea of having to be extra careful that I don't wear off the worn-looking stuff on the hardware seems like too many layers of goofiness for me. Maybe I should do this with my Steinberger though. It's already halfway there.
