Wax Potting Question

This is related to a previous thread I posted. Here's my question: When wax potting a pup, should it be done with the cover ON, or should the cover be put on after the pickup has cooled and been cleaned up ??? Does the cover need to be dipped as well ??? And, when putting a cover on a Brand New Pup, does that pup need to be dipped again?? Cover on or off ??? Thanks.

It should be potted with the cover on. That way wax can fill any air voids under the cover that might lead to microphonics.
