We need more Floyd Strats!!

Specifically, high end Strats....

The guys in Maiden should have their proper Fender Sigs...yes even Janick for those who want sort of a 60's Vintage Hot Rod...I know he doesn't have a OFR in his guitars...

The MIM's aren't bad, I've also played some older MIMs that had CBS headstocks...but I'd just love a nice tinted maple neck like the ones in the pictures...

I also understand that if Fender sold superstrats they could be possibly competing with themselves (Jackson) but I don't want a Soloist, and I don't want a Dinky! I want another Strat with a humbucker!

I want one like this one!

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

honestly , a real start with a floyd? No..except Xssives was about the first one ove ever seen that blew my mind. I dont like the one in you pic.

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

I think they still make them in Japan. I have seen a few Dave Murray strats on Ebay.

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

yeah but it's not easy to score exactly what you want on the bay...I mean production strats that you could just buy off of MF or the shelf on the local guitar store. You older guys had the luck to be able to get guitars like that off the shelf...not me! I'm stuck with the MIM Floyd strats

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

a big hell yeah two thumbs up give Mick Mars a sig model of his floyded white relic strat...so i don't have to make a copy of it myself one of these days lol. great guitar!

here's your fender with a floyd....

cool guitars, just a pickguard/pickup swap away from anything you want. i just hate poly finished necks since i'm so used to oil finished now i'm spoiled by the great smooth non plastic feel.

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

I know haha I'm just saying! She is gorgeous! both the strat and Zoey

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

Strats look weird to me with floyds.

Now, a nice Carvin Contour 66 with a floyd, trans black finish over flamed maple and all gold hardware? That would be killer.

Aw crap, I think I just gave myself GAS. :burnout:

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

That '94 on eBay looks to be one of the Floyd Rose Classic Strats with a different pickguard. GREAT guitars. I wanted one of those so bad when they were available. You can still find them used here and there.

I'd like to see true Dave Murray and Adrian Smith sig Strats available from Fender U.S.A. I know there is the Japanese Murray model and there was the 2001 CIJ model, but both those guys have been playing Strats for years.

I do see why Fender doesn't offer more Floyded Strats today (aside from the MIM). And it is because of Jackson/Charvel. I see it moreso being Charvel than Jackson, especially with the new Charvel Production models.

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

you could try ed roman guitars; he seems to be able to mod everything and anything, and does his own line of custom strat-style guitars http://www.edroman.com/

one thing i've never seen is a tele with a floyd...that would be wild!

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

You used to be able to get one in the Richie Sambora signature model...

He changed over to ESP last year though.

Re: We need more Floyd Strats!!

The Sambora models have been discontinued for close to 10 years though. He wasn't really an endorsee of anything since then other than the Floyd Rose Redmond Series guitars for the "Have A Nice Day" tour.

Speaking of Mick Mars and your clones, how about a clone of his Girls, Girls, Girls Kramer tele with a OFR?
