Weber Mass w/ Classic 30?

Has anyone tried the Weber attenuator with a Classic 30 by chance? I borrowed a friends THD Hotplate a while ago to try out but I did'nt care for the end result. While it did get the volume to a comfortable level the bass became very flubby. In all fairness to THD maybe their attenuator was'nt a good match for my amp. Or maybe my amp can't handle attenuation, I don't know. I hope so because I really like the OD channel when it's cranked up but wow, talk about loud!! So if anyone has tried the Weber with a C30 I'd like to hear what your impressions were. Thanks.

I've been using a Weber Mass since Christmas with all of my amps and I like being able to get natural tube distortion at low volumes. But the attenuator always makes the bass flubby and the overall tone more compressed and grainier than the amp would sound without the attenuator. That's the price you pay for saving your hearing I guess. You just can't have everything the way you'd like...the world doesn't quite work that way. :smack: Lew
