You know….I've been using the Weeping Demon for a while now. I have to say - I think it is a fantastic Wah!

Overall I love the construction, and especially the "Step on" feature where the way activates when you start rocking, then goes off when you are done. That is fantastic on stage! Even though it has an LED (also awesome) I don't need to worry on stage. HUGE plus to me with a lot of pedals and fog etc….

I also love the option for the "on" foot switch too. And those little tone-lok knobs are totally safe and out of the wah in case it gets kicked around (and it does…) Just fantastic.

The adjustability is fantastic. I pretty much use it a rather standard/classic mode, but it is nice to be able to adjust it so much. I could find a lot of uses for it.


All in all - as Wah's go….it isn't my early 70's Thomas Organ Company (I mean, we are talking THAT tone…) But the thing is fantastic all around. I was inspired to post this because I saw the 535Q LED thread. A 535 with an LED would be right up there to me too.

I'm impressed with WD7's too, so many features. They put a lot of thought into it, well designed and versatile. You can get used ones for a steal. There's wahs that do one thing and one thing only; WD7's are at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Don't forget the switch that changes the range to make it compatible with a bass guitar.

The ToneLok series makes me think of Korn and Surge and JNCOs and other things that do not belong in the 21st century.

Yeah - but they are generally some cool pedals if you can get past the fact that Limp Bizcut might have used them.

Demon - already mentioned
CF7 - cool @$$ chorus and flange, with extreme settings for both
TS7 - All the TS9 you'd ever need with a gain boost
DE7 - Great digital delay

I'm sure we can go on….

It's been my go-to wah for a very long time. I have my vintage Crybaby for "that" sound. Otherwise I need switchless, and the WD sounded way better than the Morley Bad Horsies and Tremonti, which I'd owned prior. Much of what I do with it is like arpegiated staccato stuff with a slow, sweeping filter. For that I set it to bass, adjust the little "high" knob underneath all the way up, and put all three tone-lok knobs around 1:00.

Oh yeah and since I always/only use it in switchless mode, I hacksawed the on/off pedal extension to fit more stuff on my board.

Shoulda kept mine,I guess.
Seemed to me like the cut the hi-end somewhat.

I have a hard time in general w/Wah pedals,tho,my '70's Thomas & 535Q are both on the blink.

Mebbe another WD will show up,tho...

Nope,hehehe...

Sent it back to homebase a while back for a once-over(bought used/working,then it crapped out),& shortly thereafter it stopped working again.

Artie's got 'em both,but he's been busy lately...

& it's not like I'm 300 pounds & jumping up & down on it...

My first wah was a Bad Horsie. Best bud of mine swore by his and he got great tones on CD with it.. I couldn't get anything that I felt like was traditional Wah tones with it. That and I wanted to be able to set it in place too. Then, I got a Vox 847. too bright. Now I have a Dunlop JC. If I were still shopping, id prolly seriously consider a Weeping Demon. I shied away from them initially as I feared they wouldn't be very durable.

Frank, NASA called... They need their launch panel back... haha

hi guys,
I got a WD7 after thinking about it to the point of overthinking it. It is very heavily built. Everybody says you can't get "that" sound from a WD7...I get that sound by turning the top knob to 11am (minus 5) and the Q knob to 7am, which is the real secret. I think no one expects to make such a drastic change just to get the industry standard sound. Works great for me. I could see getting a Fulltone Clyde to absolutely nail "that" sound but love that I can get "that" and more with the WD7...plus the auto-on has become more of a favorite...Can't really picture using the standard on off method anymore. Also complaints about the non true bypass are highly exagerrated in my opinion. Perhaps it works better in my rig because I use a Pigtronix compressor before it. Main thing is it DOES work great with no noticeable signal loss.
