Weight relived Les Paul article

Re: Weight relived Les Paul article

This thread seems to indicate that some (if not all?) Singlecuts are weight relieved, though the SC 250s and SC 245s are not?

The 245 I played a while ago was either weight relieved or made out of solid balsa wood, 'cause the thing was really light.

Is there anyway besides beating you in the head with my REAL mahogany and decidedly UN-WEIGHT RELIEVED Norlin Lp...

That IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!! It matters how it sounds and how it feels. I have played gems and turds of both the solid and relieved variety. The wood itself is more important that the frickin' shape of it.

I'm gonna say this, and if you don't agree, well fine.

90% of the guitar's tone is in the the neck, the fretboard and the wood immediately under the bridge between the tailpiece and the neck.

DEAL with it. And I have a PhD.

Not sure myself, just quoting what the dude that allegedly works (or worked?) at PRS said in the thread. I should x-ray my singlecut and my dad's at his animal hospital the next time I go, though :D

This I can agree with.
