Well Balanced shred neck pickup?

I'm looking to put a Mo Joe in the bridge of a mahogany neck/body ebony board guitar and am divided on a neck pickup.

I'm afraid the PAF Joe will be too old school sounding and not well-suited for shredding, but I've been hearing reviews about the PAF Pro saying that it is flat sounding which I definitely do not want, but I like its listed output level better compared to the PAF Joe.

I want a neck pickup that has good note definiton for shredding, but I want some dynamics so that the tone isn't completely sterile.
SUGGESTIONS?
