well, got them speakers

Davey

Goliath of Tone
but i cant mount them ROFL!

my fault actualy for not checking the spacing of the speaker before i ordered the cab..
now i got nowhere to screw them into haha

the speaker itself is snug in the hole, now i just need something to hold them in place (i got a pretty good idea how i'll do it, but that means extra waiting =/ ..oh well)

here are a couple of pictures:

Re: well, got them speakers

You could always use the Avatar method and screw them in from the front.

As in, put the speaker through the hole in the front so that the ring is on the "outside" of the enclosure. It works. I'd use a bolt over a screw though.

Re: well, got them speakers

have to recess the rim then and i dont have the tools for it.

i'm gonna get me some stuff that i'll clamp the speakers down with. insert them into the screw holes and then screw the plate into the wood. i think it'll hold hehe

Re: well, got them speakers

ok... update.

i got the metal plates today .. bolted those to the speakers, and then screwed the whole thing onto the front.

let them pics do the talkin

You know what you could do? You could put a wooden board with a 2in. hole in it infront and put a crystal glass infront of the board and make high pitch sound and break the glass!

Re: well, got them speakers

Looking real nice Davey, have you decided if it's going to stay like that or be covered yet?

Lately verticle mounted 2x12 'Quater stacks' have really started to appeal to me, i bet it will sound great.

Re: well, got them speakers

Pretty cool, the advantage to putting guitar speakers on the inside of the front baffle is so the cone doesn't get kicked (really), but for better dispersion and sound quality (of highs especially) you would mount them on the baffle on the outside ... usually effects speakers moreso with tweeters, but it still works with full rangers.
