Well you get the full circle thing here!

For years I have used switchers to control my pedals....Setups and all the fancy schmansy crap...
Today I killed it off and returned to oldschool tapdancing(was like I never have done anything else...haha)
Well it is not as even and wellbehaved as it used to be.....which I dug from the first second....
Now the little critters got their personality back.....and small the idiocyncranies they have.....
And the sound really felt out at my fingertips again.....
It has been coming for sometime now, I am sick of orderly wellbehaved sh!t....it bores me out of my skull, the effects feel like effects again,, which I love, they take me places and have their own life, much more interesting, plus litterally no thinking is required...haha shut up and play, to hell with nice cables and putty nutty muffers fluffers buffers and religious bypass(mypass true dat)
The switcher landed on the cold balcony, with the rest of the stuff I do not bother use(all my left over stuff from that place where I sometimes work...hehe)
I use three different powersupplies, two I have made at work, and one old Boss adapter...daisy chained pedals....
Buffered bypass pedals mixed up with some relay based ones, an old wah with a trrroooo try my patience pass(well it works better than the org bypass...haha)
Impedances are abit off....who cares?? The sound is great!
It is noisy, it clicks, pufs, goes boou bouu....and works!
Haha I feel liberated!
:notworthy
:wall:
:lmao:

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

People can get so hung up on 'true bypass this' or "fx loop that' and all the other rubbish. I've been throwing everything into the front of my amp lately, and just living with the side-effects. I'm finding the same thing Niels, just enjoying making the noises!! :D

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

Hehe yep....it is quite nice...the sideeffects is my big kick....gives alot of extra something funny in the overtones.....much more interesting, and also ones playing needs alittle more attention due to the shift in feel....
:D

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

Ahhhhh freedom! Whomever decided rock n roll should be clean and polite was, well, WRONG!! I remember being an FX loop, 3 channel amp, rack this, rack that, kinda dude... I don't miss that dude!

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

It's only a matter of time before you realize the choas you've let loose. Don't worry, it'll all go back to normal ;)

So enjoy it while you can!

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

Nah no more fancy stuff....I am way too much into this oldschool stuff as it is, was from the start, took a detour in the late 80s......got abit more back in the 90s...still too much politeness....took a job at a company where the boss likes silent and tranparent and all that studio smoothie tone stuff.....eh....the only thing that escaped almost undammaged was the Plexitone;).....still wish for a smaller box and an even more raw tone...but well that is life:)
^ I like chaos....that is the norm:D

Re: Well you get the full circle thing here!

I never really got into rack stuff, midi switching and all that but did sell all my pedals (twice) to get multi effects boards only to be back with pedals and sounds that I can actually use and sound good. It's a mad old world.
