WGS Speaker recommendations???

What would you all recommend for the following? I love WGS speakers and the price is right. I have a Bogner Shiva, PWE Event Horizon, this summer buying a Mesa Electradyne or Rectoverb. I already have a Stone Age with WGS Invaders and a Bogner 212OS with V30s. My Port City 212OS is empty now and I am thinking either two ET65s, the Vet30/ET65 pair or the Retro30/ET65 pair.

For my old Rectos, the Greenbacks were actually my favorite speakers with the g1265s being second. Actually....Greenbacks are my favorites anyway. Worked awsome for bluesy tones, rock tones, metal tones with my Mesas and my Splawn/Marshally amps.

Would you consider the Green Beret?

What are you looking for? Warm? Bright? Round? Sharpness? Growl?

Green berets would blow apart with my amps. That is why I use the Invaders - the best greenback style speaker I have ever playede!!!

Yep, I have had Green backs, old and new and the Invaders are my favorite GB type speaker.

How does an X pattern work in a 2x12???? I only use 2x12 cabs and may be switching to 112 cabs or combos.

Reeeeeeeeaally? Hmm. This intrigues me. I have also been considering to downsize to a 2x12 and this may be perfect.

My personal favorite is the Retro 30 mixed with the Invader. I had that when I when I had my poor man's Mesa haha and it was beautiful

I decided on Retro and Invader since I already have Invaders in my Stone Age. I tried Scumbacks and prefer the WGS speakers I played so far.

I have a Retro 30 in my Blackstar, and I really like it. I think a Retro 30 and an ET65 would be a sweet combo.

Port City says the ET65 works very, very well in their cabs.

Well, if you have Invaders and Vets, then why not go for two ETs? Then, you can mix and match to your hearts content.

I have nothing in my Port City right now. I think I may order two ET65s and then grab a Vet and Retro and mix till I find the ONE! :approve:

What about a Reaper and an ET65? I had an X of g1265s and G12H30s in a 412 and it was wickedly fat!

I should probably just stop adding suggestions. lol

I had the et65/retro 30 combine in an avatar 2x12. I always had a metallic like rasp that I couldn't get rid of....... until I got rid of the retro. I put another et65 in and problem solved.

I want to try the reaper Hp, lead 80, and the invader.
I am looking for something a little brighter to balance out the fat mids of the et65 but without the upper mid spike of a celestion vintage 30.

I thought there was a reaper 50. I could be wrong though.
