whammy pedals??

Hello all.

I have had a Black Whammy II pedal that I won on ebay a while back and it is cool but I keep hearing that the origional red one is better. I would have gotten one but the price on those things is ridiculousmg:. I read the biggest difference between the I and II is the input buffer? Is there anyone who mods later whammys to make them sound "better"? There really is not much info about them on the web as you might think. I probably don't really need to worry about it though, as it sounds rad and I don't notice any "problem":sigh:. Thanks.

I've found the biggest difference in how smoothly the track. The original seemed to have far fewer glitches than the newer ones. The Whammy IV isn't bad for about 1/4th the price of what the originals go for however.

What funny about the Whammy is that it still never really sounded like a real whammy bar to me. I guess its sort of the classic Uni-Vibe effect where it was supposed to sound like a leslie cab but it didn't, and its imperfection actually made it into its own cool effect, sort of like the Whammy pedal.

Should be a law against playing solos with them though if you ask me. (thanks for runing it for everyone Tom Morello and Jack White lol)
