What amp are you playing today?

Securb

One of Jerry's Kids
My Peavey Classic 20 is in the shop, so this has been my main rig in the office the past couple of days. It is my first time using the MD-2 in this amp, and it sounds fantastic.

The stage right 15 watt tube amp
with the Carvin VL12 8ohm loaded in
And a-b the two speakers in Harley Benton vertical 2x12 with the EHX 12VR8 speaker and the other Carvin

That Carvin sounds great in that amp

The EHX doesn't sound bad
but the Carvin just has a bit more bright clarity

I am looking forward to comparing the EM12 and the EVM12L clone from another company once we try it out i will know if i can recommend it or not

They should be here tomorrow
I'm so excited

ZOMBIE II
into my Harley Benton with the new EVM12L clones
That just arrived

Break in period
Playing a drum loop in at various volumes via Bluetooth

After the game I will make a clip

Today was a show with the Tone Master Deluxe. I use it on about 4 (not distorting) and get my distortion from a pedal. I dig that it sounds fantastic, and weighs about 20lbs.

Looking for a classic "ugly" 90s death metal tone with enough note separation that it won't be total mud. Basically I'm using the Line 6 HX Effects HM-2 model into the power section of my VHT, but I have a couple other things in the chain including an EQ afterwards to boost and shape it.

I used to have an Ampeg SS-150H half stack that nailed that sound.

I have to admit I'm surprised you would be anywhere within a five mile radius of 90's death metal tone, but, cool. Ampeg guitar heads weren't common in any of the scenes I grew up around. I only ever saw one local band using them live, and they sounded great.

Well, that particular half stack was used a ton in that scene, mostly because it was fairly cheap at the time. It is a SS head and 4x12 cab that was loud. I got it at the time because I loved the clean sound...and it was cheap for a 13 year old.
