What amps do you guys currently own?

Marshall heads:
JCM 800 2203x
1959RR
1987
2555x

Marshall cabs:
1960A w/ greenbacks
1960AHW custom made with Marshall/Celestion Vintage speakers

both cabs are 16 ohm mono

Geeze, those are crazy collections!

Right now I've got my Traynor YCV40WR with matching extension cab, a 1x15 yorkville XM100 bass amp, and an old Thorcraft Mustang 1x12 class A el84 amp.

yep. my jam for sure. still too much volume for most places i play, but a great tone. its amazing how things have changed, i used to gig with a 50w 2205 pinned through a 4x12. then moved up to a 100w evil twin through a pair of v30s. now, even at festivals with 10k+ people, my old deluxe reverb is plenty of volume

I'm amp heavy at the moment but I don't know how to move on from any of them.

- Fender '57 Twin
- 5F6A Bassman (started out as a 59 Bassman LTD but the metal chassis is about the only original part left)
- 5E3 Tweed Deluxe (built by me)
- 5F1 Tween Champ (built by me)
- 6G16 '63 Vibroverb (built by me)
- '65 Deluxe Reverb (built by me)
- Louis Electric KR12
- Fender Rumble 200 bass amp

The Louis Electric is a very recent purchase. Got it used and it arrived only about a week ago.

I've trimmed down my amp game big time since we moved states, I became a dad, and I'm not really playing with anyone else right now.

How I currently make music:
  • '90s Crate Stealth GT-50 Combo
  • Pedal Platform: DSM Simplifier X "zero watt" 2-channel amp running into a GPA-100 pedalboard amp into a Vintage 30 equipped 1x12 cab
  • Computer: Neural DSP and similar plug-ins running through a Motu M2 and Kali LP6 v2 studio monitors
I had just finished getting my home office set up to do some proper recording when my wife informed me she wants to move again, LOL! To be fair, we absolutely hate the house we landed in, so probably no new amps for a while.

Here I have:
-Fender Princeton '65 reissue
-Laney Lionheart L5T-112

Back in Ireland I also have these sitting unused:
-Laney Linebacker 30R
-Marshall 1w battery amp (can't remember the model even)

The linebacker has a rip in the speaker and the Marshall was never more than a waste of money. I don't even have a guitar back in Ireland anymore so they don't get any use even when I'm there.

Egnater Rebel 20 (I was sold on the idea of having both V6V and EL84 output stages. It's really loud for it's size, and okay soundwise. But also quite cheaply built.)

1960's Dynacord Bass King. Great amp for classic 60's tones. Also has nice grunt for recording bass, and isn't too loud when cranked up.

Gallien-Krueger RB-700 II for my main bass amp.

1980's Marshall 75 and Ampeg RB-108 for living room jamming

Fender Mustang 20 modded into head unit, Blackstar fly & Mooer Baby Bomb 30 as well.

Cabs are 1x12, Vertical slant 2x12 and straight staggered XL 2x12 loaded with Celestion G12H30 anniversary. G-K has it's own 4x10 w. horn.

Also use OR C100 home theater center speaker for handy practice cab....

It's interesting to see what others are using. It also gives some context in where another player is coming from in a discussion on amps and tone. I don't remember ever having a thread like this here, and it's been enlightening.

Sold everything other than my Kemper when I moved to Key West but recently picked up a Mesa TA-15. Amazing amp and takes pedals (except for muffs) really well. If I start gigging again, I may step up to the TA-30 to get the effects loop

a good friend had a prosonic, great amp but took a bit to dial in with the two gain controls. the balance of gain and compression is awesome once you figure it out. the power switch is fun too.
