What are the differences between 6L6 and 6v6 tubes?

The 6V6 can be looked at as the Lil' brother of the 6L6. The 6V6 being the smaller of the 2 will breakup sooner. As far as interchangeability, They both pin out the same,But the 6L6 will draw more filament current from your PT. You have to check and see if your PT is rated for this operation ,Or you will stress and /or overheat your PT. You can put JJ 6V6GT,s in place of a 6L6. A rebias will be in order.
