I mean...im looking for like, warheads here.

im changing the bridge PU in my Les Paul, and i wanna know...

whats duncan's highest powered humbucker?
what about DiMarzio?

thanks:feedback:

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

Probably the Dimebucker and Invader are the two hottest Duncans.

But the Duncan Custom is hot enough for me! I use it with a Pearly Gates neck and at volume 4 on my blackface Fenders the PGn stays fairly clean for chords but when I switch to the Custom for solos the amp starts to distort some and go into overdrive.

I think the highest output Passive duncan would be the Invader. dunno about dimarzio. But the highest output passive bucker I've ever seen would be the Kent Armstrong Mother bucker. Its a Quad Rail Pickup. Sorta like Two hot rails put together into One massively high output pickup. Dunno how they sound though. The amount of output always seemed alittle excessive to me (26K or sumthing like that) so I never bothered trying em. But if you want the absolute Highest possible output in a passive pickup. That would probably be the way to go.

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

MasterTone SPA. Clocks in at over four volts rms... :D

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

The Warpig from Bare Knuckle is about 22k isn't it?

As Duncan goes, especially for pure, rumbling, roaring bass power, nothing beats the Invader. 16.8k, but there's more to the output than just the DC resistance -- it's got the 3 magnets and those huge pole pieces that see much bigger chunks of the string to get more bass.

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

i want something that will make my P.H. easily be heard over my noisy (very disorted) band.

something that could also easily produce feedback.

Hold up ... a higher output pickup isn't really going to make you louder. It might push your amp into overdrive earlier, but that doesn't necessarily translate to more volume. If you want to be louder, you need a bigger amp. That's pretty much the only way.

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

dude

what i meant is that my pick ups now, dont really make P.H. shriek, if you know what i mean.

Well, since I don't know what P.H. stands for, no, I don't know what you mean.

yeah but...would i really be able to find that DiMarzio in a guitar Center?

Nope.

You'll have to deal illegaly on the black market to get it... and it isn't really cheap either.

Pinch Harmonic.

Har.

Ok, that makes way more sense.

By the way, if you need a ***** holder, there's a guy on here called theodie who can definitely help you with that. :)

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

I think on the Duncan passive line-up, the Parallel Axis Distortion Trembucker (PATB-2) is the hottest, isn't it?.

Looks like it. I hadn't even thought about that one.

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

First things first, what type of music do you play. If I had to guess by your name I would say you like White Zombie.

Re: what are the hottest pickups?

Everyone is saying the Invader but, the Duncan live wires heavy metal is hotter! The Invader sounds huge though!!!

Dimarzio, the X2N.

Output isnt everything! It can have a sh1t load of output and still sound like hell! I am with Lew on this one, the Custom has great output and it is a good compromise for most styles of music!
