Ahh, I see..it has those weird triangle direct mounts. Duncans would need a new baseplate, or a date with a Dremel.

Once again, if a pickup has the sound that you want, why should what it looks like matter? The only way I can see looks mattering is if you are playing in a tribute band.

Wait wait wait wait.........

I don't understand "weird triangle thing" ... Are you saying that duncans are not direct mount? I have an E-II with duncan design and it's direct mount.

OH, I get it, oh man, I hate being such a dumb-ass with this stuff.

File should work too. Or clamp well and hacksaw it

That's a very easy dremel job. About as easy as it gets actually.
Still though, I'd be more inclined to put in something with stock tri-tabs unless I already had the pickups and/or just didn't want to wait.

I think the Screamin Demon sounds awesome in Basswood (although I pair it with a DMZ Liquifire in the neck in my Basswood superstrats.)

No big deal. Some companies have the triangle. Most don't. I don't know if it matters to me, looks-wise, but I think many people have bought pickups hoping they would fit stock and they won't with some direct mounts. I would think some of them are a little afraid of altering a baseplate on something they paid $100 for, even if it is an easy job.

Here are a couple of pics of my RG870RWZ with a PATB set. Sorry about the quality of the photos, but I've neither the gear or skills to do better...

If I remember it well, you advised the Screamin' Demon a while back when I was looking for suggestions for this guitar... Well, I went a different route... ;)

PATB-set looks amazing IMO.
Never tried one but from the descriptions I'd think it awesome.

The only gripe I personally have with no-pole adjustment pups like these or rails/slugs-only, is when they're on lower-radius guitars (like under 12").

Those Ibbys are much flatter (17"ish) so it would do great in that I bet.

I have normal rails in both my prestige bridges (dime and x2n).
In those the strings all sound and feel about as even as possible with rails, (around the 16"-17" radius area),,,,IMO.

With the x2n in my warbeast it ends up with the middle strings just a bit weaker (or less gainy) feeling than the outside strings.
(12" radius IIRC, although i don't have a gauge and it sure looks and feels just a bit flatter than that to me)

This is part of why I can't understand why someone would object to the look of the patbs. Especially if they like the sound of them.

Anyways, thanks to all, a lot of cool buds here on the forums. The reason I'm closing this is because I'm a dope and didn't take time to understand some common-sense stuff.
