What are you guys pairing your X2N's with?

I have one in the way to use in one of my guitars. Wonder what you guys like in the neck? Recommendations? Preferably something fat and hot! :)

I'm thinking of putting one in the bridge of my friends BC Rich. Right now it has a pair of EMG HZ3'S that came out of my Jackson. I think that the X2N would work quite well in that guitar paired with the HZ3. Especially in the middle position.

I paired an x2n with a super2. Was a fine balance volumewise but i really didn't care for the super2 at all.

H3 might be interesting!

A lil' more than 40 years ago, I had one in bridge position paired with a Dual Sound (4 wires Super Dist) in the neck slot... it worked well for my unrefined ears of beginner. Not sure if I'd appreciate this recipe nowadays but output level wise, the mismatching was not too high. :-P

The X2N works well with the D Activator and D Activator X. The X has more bass, it's thicker and not as hot, while the regular D Activator has more highs, and sustain. Both sound great coil split. If I had to pick one it would be the regular D Activator. But can't go wrong with any one of them.

In my limited experience with the super 2, it seemed like having a 2nd bridge pickup. It’s bright and articulate, but I like my neck pickups on the smooth and bass-y side.
I like smooth neck pickups as well. Smooth and hot. What would you pair an X2N with, then?

I’ve never played an x2n. With a super distortion, I’ve paired a Fred and a Duncan 59 in the neck. I like both. The Fred is in a strat with a super switch. The split sounds are good. It’s not overly bright, but has kind of -slightly- a single coil vibe. The 59 is paf-ish with a good bass and smooth sound that I like in conjunction with the super.

having said that, I gather that the x2n is a bit brighter and slightly more treble-focused than the super. So if it were me, I’d either put a Super distortion or an evolution neck with the x2n.

I haven't used an X2N so I can't comment on how they'd balance, but the Liquifire is very smooth and reasonably hot (not sure if it's hot enough though)

When I had a Kramer shred stick, I paired it with middle and neck DiMarzio Choppers

Currently sporting an X2N paired with a Hello Kitty pick guard only
