What are your favorite picks?

Re: What are your favorite picks?

Tortex blue or purple. Used to be all purple, but I have been using the blue ones more and more in the past few years. Before I found Tortex, all I used were Fender tortoise shell extra heavies.

I used to use Nylon 73s, but recently tried a Jazz hard and loved it. A lot faster.
I then won these in a contest...

and I have to say they work great. They're not as fast as Jazzes, but they've still got a nice point and the hole in the middle lets your fingers sort of...bond? not stick together per se, but it makes it much harder to drop. Re-Axe carries them. They're Troy Westerns.

Depends....

I have got a few hundred picks of all types but it usually comes down to Dunlop standard Nylon or Fender celluloid rounded triangles.

Re: What are your favorite picks?

I love the E-bow! I can only credibly use this about once every six months (like when my band cuts into Eleanor Rigby) but it is a great way to burn through 9V batteries.

On top of my cab at rehearsal I always have a few picks, a tuner, a capo, a beer, and an E-bow.

I use my e bow a lot. The great thing about having three guitar players in a band is that you can take advantage of two of them playing the riff or chords and I can layer on top of that, especially during verses. During solos I play the rhythm part, but the Ebow is great for textures, especially prog type stuff.
