What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

Well got a few myself...
But any other who uses them??
Modded or nonmodded does not matter!:eyecrazy:

Blues Driver (Analog Man modded)
The orange distortion pedal ... don't recall the name but the most common distortion pedal on the planet
The delay/reverb pedal thing

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

Man, I look at all the model numbers & it's Greek... TZ1; HF2... means practically nothing to me! I had to dig in the pedal closet & look at 'em...

DC3 - Digital Dimension
GE7 - graphic EQ
OC2 - octave
SD1 - Overdrive... i've had this one for at least 15 years, bought it used

Actually, I've bought 'em all used.

I've had a bunch of others over the years, a delay... Heavy Metal AND the Digital Metalizer though not at the same time; phaser which sounded like a burping frog; Bass Flanger (ok); stock DS1 which I never liked; stereo delay which stopped working...

At one point there was a metal zone that some kid left at the studio & never came back for, then someone else took it. That's sort of fitting...

I had an SE50 for a while, the old half rack box and that had some good sounds for what it was. Kinda noisy though... and horrible to program. I also had an SRV2020 digital reverb which I liked a lot and gave to a friend.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

The TU-2 is a godsend. I also own an PH-3, but recently replaced it with a 70s Ibanez Phasetone on the board.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

I don't see why anyone would have BOSS hate. It would be like Ibanez hate. Or Honda Civic hate. BOSS pedals are just solid working pedals. A few are arguably sucky, a few are arguably great. Overall, they work at a decent price. They are working tools. And overall, they work well. There will always be some pedal with a little more this or that to your liking. But like a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, you can grab one off the shelf anywhere in the world and be fairly certain of the sound, and usually a workable one, that you will get.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

I only have a GT3 and it hasn't been used in years. It's the only Boss pedal I've ever had. I would buy some used if the situations would allow it.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

GE7 and OD3.

The GE7 has come in handy more times than I can count. At the moment I use it in the effects loop of my single channel Cornford amp for a solo volume boost. It does this extremely well without affecting the tone of the amp and is noise free. I use the OD3 at rehearsals because I have to use the crappy Marshall MG amps they provide and the OD3 can actually make them sound half decent which in my opinion is nothing short of a miracle. I have another much more expensive valve based overdrive pedal (Blackstar) but I think the OD3 is easier to set up to get a good tone out of virtually any amp or guitar. My first OD (I'm old) was a Coloursound Tonebender which people now pay stupid money for. Believe me - they were total crap. Back then I would have traded a kidney for an OD3.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

For all the years I have been playing, I've owned relatively few of them. And I can't remember any that I've sold. And I don't mess with the innards. They're all stock.
So at the moment I have:
DS-1
HM-2
Dual Overdrive (SD-2?)
and one that I think is gaining collector value, a Touch Wah from the late 70's or early 80's.

Forgot my AC-2 acoustic simulator. Yucky acoustic sound, but sounds OK in the mix at a gig. As with most Boss pedals, the sound is dubious, but passable at a gig, and it's handy to have.

Boss SD-1 modded
Boss DS-1 (Supposedly modded by some yeti wanker)

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

The CEB-3 (made for bass) is a rockin chorus for guitar. I don't know what's inside of it, but I like it a lot better than the Small Clone.

Re: What Boss/Roland pedals do you have??

The BF-2B Flanger is great for guitar too. It's just the BF-2 with a couple cap changes for bass. I had one but sold it because I didn't use it. I've gotten away from using many effects and stick with reverb or delay and a phaser.
