What brand and guage strings do you use?

Wonder where I stand in the community as far as string guage goes. I ran into a friend last week I hadn't seen in a long time and we were talkin guitars and he was surprised at what I thought was heavy. Me I use Dean Markley Blue Steel guage 10-46. My friend told me he uses 11's on his. I thought that was kinda heavy so I bought a set and strung up my mockingbird with em and they felt good but a little hard for me to bend. Also, the sound was way bassy and not real defined. So I took em off after a few days and restrung it with 10s. So I wasted $7. Who cares.

Anyway, what do you use? Brand? Guage?

GHS Boomers 13-58 on strats, 14-60 on short scales.
12's on my acoustics, cause I think they sound better.

I usually use DR Pure Blues 9-46, i used to like to use 12 or 11 sets, but I like to be more relaxed when i play now.

Everly Brothers 10-46 or GHS if I can't get the Everly's.

10-46 guage, I buy 10-12 sets at a time so whatever is on bulk special at GC when I need more. It's alot cheaper to pay only $3.00 a set! Don't care what brand, GHS, Ball, D'addario- makes no difference to me! .

or just mohogony with a JB and a rosewood fretboard, and you might wanna borrow his amp...

I guess I'm just saying the strings have little to do with his over-all tone, but if makes ya feel right, than it's what ya need

actually i had one of his sig series... sorta. I had a Korina KV2. I think the strings definitely affect the tone. They're not the be all end all to the tone but they matter.

10-46 Daddrio right now because the local sam ash has them 3 pack for $9.99 i figure that aint so bad...

Has anyone tried DARCO? I hear they are pretty darn good!!

I use GHS Boomers, 9-42 on my Floyd/Kahler equiped guitars, and 10-46 on my Fixed Bridges and Vintage Trems.

I use Ernie Ball 10-46 on all my guitars.

I used use GHS Boomer .11s, but have recently switched over to DR Pure Blues .11s. They seem to sound a little warmer, and being nickel are a lot easier on my frets.
