hmmm.. generally i evaluate a product individually instead of by its brand.
This was always my initial attitude, but I've realized I always end up buying the same brands. I'm all over the place with strings, but typically buy Ernie Ball or GHS. I love Duncan pickups, particularly the Custom, Invader and Distortion. I'll never consider anything beisdes Schaller straplocks (obviously the best design). As far as guitars go, I like a lot. The brands I trust enough to buy without playing first are Jackson, Charvel, Fender and Ibanez.

GHS Strings, Levy's Straps (there's a Levy's factory here in my city.. cool), Jackson Guitars I'm 75/25, because out of the 6 I played a couple days ago, only 1 of them felt just a tad under-par. I also put my trust in Jones Soda bottlecaps (used as straplocks.. f*ck Schaller! :p ), Tech21 pedals, and Yorkville cables. And most importantly, Seymour Duncan.

My trust does not belong in Fender guitars (I've played so many lemons it's not even funny), DigiTech pedals (I borrowed my friends RP80, and everytime I turned it on it seemed like it was gonna fall apart) and Marshall solid-state amps.

Is it weird that I feel import Jackson's are superior to some USA Fenders? Probably, but then again it's all based on opinion.

Jackson USA
Seymour Duncan pickups
Ernie Ball Strings
Dunlop Straplocks and Picks
BOSS Effects
Levy Leather Straps
Monster Cable (say what you want)

GHS Boomers, Levy's Straps (Go Canada!), Gotoh machine heads.

Everyhting else has to be tested first. Although I will buy pickups used, on EBay with only the sellers word, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
