What can you tell me about this "Gibson"?

I saw this in my local guitar shop. It plays and sounds fantastic, but I have never seen one of these Gibsons in my life. The guy wants $1,000 for it. What had me scratching my head is the headstock logo. The logo on the neck plate is standard Gibson. The heel on the guitar is amazing and I love the color.

Wow, a Gibson Charvel. Serial looks like it would be 1987? The bridge reminds me of the Kahler on my Yamaha but it says licensed by Floyd. Nice one.

(Don't know what it sounds like, who knows what the pickups are. I'd replace them in a 'reversible' way, play the heck out of it, then put everything back before I sell.)

(Edit - forgot which guitar had the Kahler. Just remembered.)

They are usually pretty good at keeping the guitars clean but they just moved to a new location and I would imagine the ongoing construction is kicking up more dust than they can keep up with.

That was Gibson's stab at the 80's Jackson / Charvel Super Strat market. It died a quick death.

The guy is always willing to make a deal. It is cool and is already at a great price, but I don't think I need another shred guitar. It is very tempting, though.

You’re probably right about the price.

I did say ASKING, and not what people regularly sell them for.

We all know that A LOT of people ask crazy prices for guitars on Reverb, but most of the time they don’t sell for that price.

I’d probably pick it up for $800-$900 for sure.

It’s a pretty unique and not so common Gibson, I’d probably get it for that reason.

I picked this guitar up a couple of years ago for an amazing price.

Most people would ever consider picking up this guitar, but I think it’s cool and unique.
