what could work as polish?

Re: what could work as polish?

Lemon Pledge
...

Using Lemon Pledge or any other wax / polish that contains Silicone on a guitar can easily make any repairs that the future may hold an unnecessarily costly procedure, for the simple reason that silicone penetrates wood and glues do NOT adhere well to silicone.

I once had to reset a neck and reglue a headstock on an acoustic that had been polished with LP over the period of a few years, and it took (and therefore cost) about twice as much as it normally does. Considering that that is normally a 6-700$ set of repairs, you can imagine how much it hurt to find out the guitar he loved had almost been permantly destroyed by his maintenance and not the accident, and how much money it would take to save it ;)

My 2 cents: Buy a bottle of Dunlop 65 or Martin guitar polish. Saving here can cost you hundredfold in the future ;)

...But, that would take all the fun out of rooting through your local hardware store or under the sink for the next best thing in guitar maintenance.:smack::)

ill think ill give windex a chance, until i get my hands on the real deal.

Are you located on Mars? Is that why you can't find any polish locally? Go to a store and buy some polish. I use Pledge with Lemon oil on a regular basis. Regular guitar polish would be best, but in a pinch any good furniture polish will work!
