What delay pedals are you guys using?

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

Line 6 Echo Park - thank you Jeeeeezus!

My favorite of all I've tried, including, most notably, the Boss DD-20.

It sounds the best out of any of them that I've tried. It's an extra bonus that it does so frakkin' much.

I really want one of these for the ducking feature alone. That's a great idea that I'm surprised isn't incorporated into more pedals from different brands.

The Nova Repeater has a Dynamic Mode, which is the same thing as the Echo Park's ducking delay (but without the feathers and duck poop everywhere).

I used to have an Echo Park.

I now have a Nova Repeater.

That's really all you need to know.

It's also a healthy £70 more expensive. I don't really know anything about the Nova repeater, so it's probably worth that much BUT...I've already got most of my delay needs taken care of and I really would only use it for the Ducking and maybe occasionally for the reverse mode or something.

Good to know that I was mistaken about no one else doing the same thing, though. It really does seem like a really useful feature. :)

It is a useful feature ... and yet for some reason I never use it. I think it's because I never stop playing long enough for the repeats to actually happen.

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

*adds Nova Repeater to list of pedals to try*

What about the TC Flashback, anyone tried one of those?

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

I had a Carbon Copy, which is IMHO a great delay. I have now moved on to the Strymon El Capistan, and possibly never looking back. Awesome pedal, packed with features, and sounds Heavenly!

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

Analogman AR20DL for slapback
Catalinbread Montavillian for longer delay time ambient-type stuff

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

I'm a big fan of the EH Deluxe Memory Man. I went through a DLS Echotap, H&K Replex and an Eventide Timefactor before choosing it.

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

I have a Line 6 DL4, but most of the time I just use the delay from my TC Electronic G Major.

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

Maxon AD-9 ( discontinued) and Tech21 Boost DLA.
Maxon came out with a brand new Delay Pedal to replace the AD-9 called the AD-9 Pro.
My AD-9 pictured has the original Panasonic MN3205 BBD and MN3101 Clock Driver IC’s that are no longer being produced --these were the same chips as used in the vintage Boss, Ibanez, Maxon ( like Wah-Wah's), and EH designs from the late 70’s on . [DOES IT REALLY matter gear nerds??..sheesh!!]

The new maxon AD-9 PRO has 4 Maxon proprietary BBD chips. It also has some toggles for tape style effects. I wonder what the difference is, I'd like to hear them together.

Jerry, I bought the AD-9 Pro and sent it back. The repeats were darker than I thought they'd be and I decided that if I was going to have dark repeats I'd at least want the 900 ms possible with the AD-999 so I made the switch. (I really don't care about triplet and other mutiple/divided repeat patterns). The repeats are OK if you just want some subtle ambient delay. I'll say this about the Maxons ... they are very well built and very accurate in their production of repeats. They trail off very smoothly and, in the case of the AD-999, you can run fairly high levels of feedback before oscillation.

I set up mine for a very short, low mix, slap back delay and then run a Strymon into it. I guess it's sort of a waste of an expensive analog delay, but it really warms up the Strymon nicely!

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

I have 3 DD3's on different boards. I like the simplicity of them & I love the tone. I also have a deja vue that I won & have never even opened the box. I think I will now. I have been avoiding it. I love my DD3's, but everyone that I have spoken to that has the Deja Vue loves it.

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

Nova delay on those rare occasions when I'm not using my modeling rig.

Re: What delay pedals are you guys using?

I can't believe out of 3 pages I'm the only one using an Aqua Puss. I would have thought it would have been more popular.
