What do you guys recommend?

I think I wanna try a new neck pickup in my LP. I like the PGn but at times it seems a bit....for lack of a better word...cloudy, It sounds pretty thick and nice under gain and I can get pretty close to that gibbons neck bucker tone but I can't get that nice sweet, smooth neck bucker sound that I love...slash. Leads on clean are really really nice but the chording is a little too thick and doesn't have as much clarity as I want, I find myself using the middle position alot for cleans. I might just buy an alnico 2 pro and have one of my friends over to help me A/B them. Is this what I should do?

if you are going for Slash, then the A2P is the way to go. I personally love the Jazz in the neck spot of an LP-type guitar, but that's kind of the opposite way you are trying to go I think - - more clear/glassy type of tone.
