I think that you can only buy the evo signles when you actually buy a jem, or a set, as i couldnt see a single one to buy anywhere.

Was thinking about grabbing one 2nd hand as a replacment for my stock ibby middle pickup. Is it worth it? And any ideas what it sounds like!?

Also, for my strat, i value the clean tone in the neck loads with the stock single. If i put a a yngwie pickup in will it ruin it? Im after a little more power for solos but i dont wanna kill the single coil sound!

thanks,

kev :beerchug:

The Dimarzio YJM is just a HS-3 with a vintage magnet stagger. The HS3 is actually pretty low output, and, according to Dimarzio, sounds like a warm single coil. :cool3:

Yes the yjm is exactly a hs3 with a vintage stagger which does have an effect on the tone (very slightly), not a high power pup but remember it is a stacked humbucker and is not going to sound like a single coil but works very well in med/high gain applications.
