I just saw that Fender's Custom Shop will be making a 100-instrument-run recreation of Clapton's "Brownie."

I think it's kinda cool, but I don't even want to know what kinda price they're gonna be asking for one of these!:boggled:

What Do You Guys Think of This?

Clapton fans must all be of a wealthy segment of the population. Clapton has a few versions of his signature Strat, an entire line of high priced Fender amps, and I believe he's got a signature Les Paul too.

I mean, the guy is a legend, but who the heck is buying all this high dollar gear with his name on it?

Kinda what I was thinking. Like I said. It's cool but for the money it costs... uh, yeah...

These are for collectors...

I haven't see a price on the Brownie but the Clapton/Harrison LP is also limited to 100 pieces and it's 15k.

The new OOO-28 EC is 6k, the new OOO-45 EC is 50k.

I'd expect the Brownie to be in the 15k range, maybe more...

You'll never see more than a few of these in the hands of real players, most of them will end up living in glass cases their whole life...sad really but what can we do?

Ahh.. the guitar that sent him down the road of mediocre guitar tone for the remainder of his career !






Disclaimer: I LOVE strats and own one, and feel its as legitimate as any other instrument. I just think Clapton sounds like a$$ playing one.

That was Strats in general; Brownie was just one of the implements his chose to do it with.
