All my favourite guitarists have used Marshall amps. They may have used other amps too, but they all used Marshalls.

I bought my first Marshall in 1977. I've used other amps, but I always seem to come back to Marshalls.

The Marshall sound is the sound I hear in my head (along with my tinnitus).

Playing through my Marshalls for 30+ years is what CAUSED my tinnitus:doh:!!
They were all I used for years untill I found the Fender Prosonics.
Open, liquid, organic, expressive, they just "feel " RIGHT!

I've always been a big Marshall fan, but I'm VERY picky about them. Marshall has always been smart about creating amps that supply both vintage and modern tones, and it isn't totally dependent on the era it came from.......it's totally dependent on the model. Some are amazing, some are mediocre, and some totally suck. That's why you hear so many opinions....because people often try models that don't suit anything they do.

I've owned about 9 Marshalls, and have played nearly all of them. At this point, I know right away if I'll like it, whether it's vintage or highgain.

Also, a lot has to do with tubes and biasing. I don't even comment on an amp, unless I've heard it biased to around 38mA with brand new EL-34's or E-34L's, and good pre tubes. You'd be surprised how a simple retube can make a difference.

Well even though I don't use Marshalls I've played some and well, they have that reputation for a reason. They are without a doubt some of the greatest amps around. Love the roar and crunch you can get when you crank one of them up, it's kinda like being punched by a really huge trucker woman...don't like their cleans a lot though I haven't really used them clean a lot so I really can't judge them by that. The slight break up sounds and full on cranked distortion you get is to kill for though....rude and crunchy.

Just about every guitar hero of mine plays a Marshall. So, in my head, when I think about tone, its a Marshall tone. I dig the way artists new and old, were able to create sucha wonderfull tone with a Marshall. It didn't matter if it was blues, pop rock, classic rock, or heavy metal, it was done with Marshall tone.

There's also something about that Marshall logo that just looks to cool too. I don't know what it is, but a guitar amp doesn't look rite unless it says "MARSHALL".

Marshall's sound like amps I like to hear other people play through, but if I listen to it long enuff, as to break it (the tone) down, I don't like it too much.

I definitely don't sound good thru one, Marshall's in your blood, so to speak.
