What do you think is the ugliest guitar ever made?

All of us have different tastes. That is why there are so many guitar body styles and shapes available. I remember a guitar DVD where Dave Navarro called the Parker Fly the ugliest guitar he has ever seen. I have a Parker and personally think they are cool as poop. I am wondering what you think are the ugliest guitars on earth. Finishes, body shapes or even brands.

I will be the first to dive into the fire. I am a HUGE B.C. Rich fan, I have a tattoo of a Mockingbird on my arm. I love almost every B. C. Rich design ever made. However, the BC Rich Beast NT to me is the most unattractive guitars ever made, in my opinion. I know they sound great and play great, the shape just does not do it for me. Too radical for this old man.

Let's not diss anyone's axes this is all about preferences.

There's not much I don't jive with.

For a long time, my old Parker Nitefly was the best guitar I'd ever played. It's still a top tier instrument and I'd love to own another someday.

Re: What do you think is the ugliest guitar ever made?

Bo Diddley played a guitar that was second famous to his box one. I hate that one, and other guitars with that particular formula of kitsch futurism + heavy body on top. Voxes were like that too. They inspired some later awesome guitars, especially when reversed, but ugh they look too gawky for me.
Also, I don't it when someone adds body material to a tried and true body shape to come up with their own look. Reverend does that, and I don't care for it.

Yeah, I was thinking Reverend, I bet they sound and play nice but once in a while they come up with a guitar that just makes me scratch my head.

Don't think I could really put my finger on one specific guitar, but some of those guitars Gibson made in recent years were pretty horrible.
That Zakk Wylde SG/Flying V hybrid, reverse Flying V, reverse Explorer, the Flying V with the holes in it and perhaps less recent history, the Corvus.
ESP (perhaps Edwards, I'm not sure, maybe someone can correct me) has some Japan only model signature models that are hilariously bad looking

God yes, the reverse V was hideous. I was not a fan of the Splittail - SG/Flying V hybrid, until I played one. Now I am a huge fan. I did also play the reverse V, I almost bought it for the weird factor. It sounded great and played great but is is just such a bizzare looking guitar.

B. C. Rich and some of the other pointy makes are intentionally built to look mean 'n' nasty.

I am more inclined to nominate something like the Reverend guitar illustrated in post #5. Its failure lies in trying too hard to be different. The obvious mismatching of features is unpleasing to the eye. The instrument would need to feel and sound stupendously good for me to forgive its appearance.

I totally agree like I said I am a HUGE B.C. Rich fan. The Beast NT just looks asymetrical and very uncomfortable to play. I bet if I played one I would change my tune.

Eastwood rubs me the wrong way with their hipster axes. I have no interest in picking one of these nightmares up.

It would be much easier to list what I like.

But a brand as a whole that bugs me, Ernie Ball/MM was the one that popped into my head first.

MOST, but not all,BC Rich designs (mocks and biches=cool)
