Haha! I saved up all summer to buy this for myself! On my birthday which is today! I can't wait to get it.. How safe is money order/cashier's checks on ebay? 1,500 is alot to throw away. Anything I can do to make it safer??

Sind a money order from the bank through registered mail, then you have confirmation that it actually got there. After that it's all in your faith of how good his feedback is.

Yup, send it through registered mail... Ask for the signature stuff, you'll be sure he got it and you'll be able to prove it in case it turns out bad...
