Hi everyone !

I recently bought a old Honher LP copy from the 70's.
The pickups have been changed just after it was made.

I checked the pickups today and the reference are :

Seymour Duncan JBJ on bridge
Seymour Duncan APH1 NJ on neck...

What do the "J"'s mean at the end of the reference ?

These pickups are really sweet, i love them, espacially the APH1 NJ wich has really good low frequency response...

Thanks for your answers

People here have said it means the pickup was wound by none other than MJ. The lady who now winds most of the Antiquities.

The last letter is the code for the person who wound the pickup...in your case they were wound my MJ...she now works in the Costom Shop with Seymour winding antiquitys and CS orders...cool score!

not really, but I can tell you this...MJ has been in the CS for a few years now so they are not real new...also the code on the back changed in 1994 or 1995...so before that change...as an example a new JB would say SH-4, and the Alnico II pro would say APH1N...so being that yours says JBJ, it is at least 10 years old...hope this helps...if you wanna know more you can search this forum or search the Q&A section on the duncan site, it's all there in great detail.
