What does the Bro Bucker sound like?

Still in need of a neck pup. Leaning towards a Pearly Gates. I was looking at the custom shop and came across the Brobucker. Anyone have info on this thing?

The guitar is a Warmoth Soloist 24 fret with recessed floyd. Basswood body with maple top. Maple finger board.

Probably too hot and thick for a neck pup unless you have a really crazy hot bridge pickup going on. It's about as much 42awg wire as you can fit on a bobbin. What bridge pup do you have?

I'm running a Custom 5 in the bridge. I'm looking for that paul gilbert picking articulation. PAF Pro has that but sounds like it's under water. I also tried the Jazz neck which was better over all but a little too bright. Right now I'm leaning towards the Pearly Gates but haven't tried it yet.

Well, the Bro probably will be too muffled for your needs in the bridge. It's really hard to lose with a Pearly. It's just a little fatter than the Jazz with more mids. It should be plenty articulate. Gilbert used to run Super Distortions in parallel in his guitars, which gives them a more "single coil" kind of sound but a bit more growl. There's always the option of getting a 4-wire 'bucker and coil-tapping it like that. Heck, the Brobucker might be pretty awesome in parallel.

If you´ve still got the Jazz/neck, you could try an A4 in it.
