What duncans for a basswood RG?

Just bought a cheap ibanez RG350, plays great, but could do with a little more subtlety. Ive heard JB/59 in a G&L mahog/maple, and it was best sound ive heard, but would it work in my RG? If not could anyone suggest others (even other brands!) Bear in mind I dont do the scooped metal thing, more Lifeson, Lizzy, Page etc. Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum!!

for those artists you list a gibson type tone comes to mind. if it was me id put a patb3 in the bridge. its an overwound paf type tone from a pup that was made for guitars like yours with a trem. it does have a different look, but its got a great sound.
if you liked a jb, you could try it as well. it will have a different tone in your guitar than in the g&l but a similar character. many people love a jb in the bridge of an ibanez, some people think its too bright

I once owned an Ibanez RG-470. I installed a set of DiMarzio Breeds and it gave me exactly what it sounds like you need...
