What gear are you getting??

Re: What gear are you getting??

Probably a couple more power amps and maybe another set of mains. Then maybe look at another guitar. I've been obsessing about a late 70's Les Paul Standard that I saw not too long ago, but I think it got sold, so maybe the 1980 ES-335S that I found in a pawn shop.

Re: What gear are you getting??

My next aquisition will be a boss Loop Station pedal. I've got one lined up pretty cheap. Extra long sampling length and quantizable loops with storable memory. It's going to be LOTS of fun.

I'm sniffing around semihollows, too.

Long term, a couple of different flavours of amp, a P90 guitar like a McCarty soapbar or an LP special and more teles are the likely items...

TC Electronic M-One
Rack Case
EMG 85/81 (for Les Paul)
Korg Pandora 4-track recorder

Re: What gear are you getting??

my mesa rectoverb comes on monday, i'm buying a NEW mesa recto cab tomorrow or friday, and i still have money.... but i think i'll save it so i dont have to work this summer! it'll be so nice... i usually work a lot in the summer... but after this amp i think i'll either buy a rack mount with some cool stuff in it, or an lp classic....

Re: What gear are you getting??

The tuners for my Custom are coming in Fri/Sat

Then the next biggie is the '59, Full Shred and VR.

I'm still biting my nails over getting a nice Tube OD/Dist ... but with income, school costs, property fees and bills, plus a vacation in august ... if I do it will be extremely tight

Re: What gear are you getting??

A good overdrive pedal.

Then I would like a Gibson LP standard, but I will have to save money for a few years to aford that :laugh2:

Re: What gear are you getting??

First a new cellphone! Mine just gave up on me.
Either a Mesa dual rectifier or a Randall RM100, not shure what cab I'll be getting with it. I'm also getting a tele custom FMT HH. From the money that's left I'll probably buy some duncans. Also getting my own shure sm58, I'm getting tired (and more and more disgusted)of using someone elses mic.

A taylor 712 - the first steel string acoustic that I'll own, as I've played classicals all my life. Absolutely fell in love with it when I played it in the store.

For electric stuff - probably an avatar 2x12 to mate with my Rivera and a loooper, and of course a bigger pedalboard to hold it all... Maybe even sell my single rectifier and get something better... GAS is an uncontrollable force in my life right now...

Re: What gear are you getting??

i'm planning to get a marshall......a dsl50, or a tsl60 or a marshall 30th anniversary........i'am starting to dislike my mesa dc5......

Re: What gear are you getting??

Hopefully nothing until I drag myself out of a small financial hole that GAS has helped dig :D:D

But afterwards: More Jacksons and Gibsons

I hope Santa Clause drops by this thread and fulfills our wishes.
This thread is becoming a mighty fine wishlist.

Boy...I don't need a thing. But I'm real excited about the Duncan Custom Shop pickups MJ is winding me:

CS Jerry Donahue Tele lead
CS Tapped Tele leadwith 6K and 10K taps...just like what Seymour and Curly use
CS Tele neck with Strat tone and output

All three will be the Antiquity version so they'll look 50 years old.

Re: What gear are you getting??

Well, as of now, I'm happy with my signal chain from the guitar through the pedals through the rack up to the speakers. I have two Bogner 2x12's. One is loaded with Celestion Lead 80's and the other with Vintage 30's. I found that I prefer the fuller and more articulate sound of the lead 80's, so I'm selling the 2 V30's and buying 2 Lead 80's. I'm also going to upgrade my speaker cables. I use Monster Performer 500 cables now (which are good), but, I'm tempted to try the new Alessandro cables (they sound pretty impressive based on a recent Guitar Player review) http://www.alessandro-products.com/cables-speaker.html

And, I might aqcuire a Voodoo Lab analog chorus pedal just to try it out. We'll see how bad I'm GASsing for that in the coming weeks. :burnout:
