I think we might have someone who can finally shut up SRV fans about tone and thick strings. . .
Strumming is a whole-body endeavor. Full G chords involve several participants.

Today and Friday, it's been the LTD EC-1000 with 12s in D standard. Actually tuned it down further tonight for a short messing around session, trying to improve my tremolo picking for a couple of Behemoth songs.

That is my go-to guitar for the couch and studio. I use that mainly for running scales and practice. It has a great action. I dropped a Black Winter in it a few years ago so I use it in the studio for trem work. Not sure why these trems get knocked online, the feel is awesome and it always returns in tune. I had an all black version in the 90s and regretted selling it. I found this one online around 15 years ago.

Alnico II Pro & Custom Custom. But I might talk to MJ to see about some custom pickups. Something I would dig (if possible) is to make Antiquities, but with rails.

What would the rails do to a low output PAF? I always see them on fire-breathing high gain pickups.
Honestly, I am not sure. I'd love them to look like fire-breathing high output pickups, but sound like vintage PAFs.
