What guitar are you playing today?

'86/87 american that belongs to a buddy of mine. it was his guitar when we played in a garage band in high school. i borrowed it 25+ years ago and have had it since. antiquity ii firebird neck, a5 7.5k tele bridge pup i wound, 4 way switch, and a nice three saddle bridge. sounds great and plays pretty good.

its not my guitar so i didnt wanna rout the old guard or get a new one, i tried this as an experiment and its been this way for 10+ years. not sure why those pics look so washed out

If you have had the use of it for 25 years
You have squatters rights
Its yours

But I sympathize with your reservation
Still holding those stars 🌟

Been bouncing back and forth between my Budokan, and a Les Paul Classic here at my computer.

In the work office, just switched from my LTD Viper 256, which I'm really liking a lot, to my Ibanez PS120. THAT guitar is epic good; Feel, playability, tone, comfort. Really surprising if just looking at it.

I used my Emerald acoustic today at a show in the Villages, but with 60mph winds and then lightning, we got about halfway through before they pulled the plug (yes, we still got paid).

I’ve always favoured and played guitars with humbuckers but since losing most of my enthusiasm to play guitar or bass and having a fair few months away I’ve come back to it preferring single coils.

The LTD EC-1000 with Black Winters is seeing a lot of use lately, in large part because I keep it either in C# or D and the new Megadeth album has made me want to learn some tunes in D standard. Good opportunity to try to get closer on some contemporary Exodus rhythm too. Working on my downpicking speed has actually paid off a bit!

Got this one out of the case today, slightly fatter and thicker neck than the pale blue one and sustains better. Probably my favourite guitar out of my stable.image.webp
