What guitar are you playing today?

Tonight I played my white strat again, still getting to know Fred and PAF Joe. Played that for about an hour and then picked up my Epiphone G400 (SG copy) - it's loaded with a Custom/59 hybrid in the bridge and tuned to Drop C. Strings are beyond dead on that guitar, so the next time I pick it up might be to change the strings.

i think that looks great! a brobucker bridge and wlh neck is a great combo. i like the wlh bridge, but like the brobucker better. for me the winner of the wlh set is the neck, its fantastic!
I did change the magnet in the Brobucker for a full fat UOA5 years ago and it did thicken the sound up a bit.

Oh i am so ashamed

I couldn't resist

They made me an offer that I couldn't refuse

So I got the Donner DST550

Look at this gorgeous thing

If you are thinking an Ibanez AZ knockoff you may be right

Roasted maple neck
Locking tuners spoke wheel truss rod
And a gig bag

It was ridiculous what I had to give for it
Then when I ordered it Donner sent me a thank you message with a link that listed the same guitar for $3 less than i just paid.
So they refunded me the $3 and change

OMG what a great deal!!!

I may have to put a roller nut on this one
It came with all the other upgrades.

The pickups aren't as bright and jangly as the other strats . More mid

Could be a wiring thing I haven't taken it apart yet

I love the finish and binding on a strat is my thing

Are they steel pole with a magnet underneath or alnico pole? I find the steel pole with the magnet tend to be middier and sometimes work better with gain because of this.

I'm not sure but when I change strings I will check . I think they would ceramic under steel .

My other strats
The Sunburst has alnico polepieces
And the red Squire has ceramic magnets underneath
They both sound very similar and bright to me
It may be a combination of lower wind and ceramic or something... but I don't think its just the ceramic magnets that make the difference.

Again when I check I will report back

Played a small group thing last night with a few friends and took a different rig.
Played the 50 watt first gen Archon head with my Mesa 1/12 and ran only a little delay and verb in the loop playing my 2016 Kiesel DC 600 with a Kiesel Beryllium bridge and Gamballi neck. On the red channel all night with 2 acoustics and no PA.
Turned out surprisingly well considering how low the volume was and running the flame throwing Archon!

Playing this little guy. Bullet Strat designed for the punk rock look. Sloppy paint: intentional. Only the black paint orange-peeling? Unintentional.

Only pickup that works is the middle, so I spent the morning trying to make my funk playing more percussive

Another one of my Indo Ibanez Saber's, an S870 with matte flame maple finish & 24 frets..bought this one used a couple of years ago It's a Saber so it plays great!
