What Guitar in Rainbow in the Dark Vid?

Not sure how many Dio fans are on here (or if I'm posting this in the right part of the forum), but what guitar is Vivian Campbell playing in the video for Rainbow in the Dark?

Apparently he was playing various Charvels around that time. Maybe some one-off?

That's no Charvel.
Most of the holy diver album was recorded using his LP, I don't think he really used the Charvel's much until the tour.
I know he also had a fondness for Aria pro II's, but that doesn't look like one of those either.
I suspect it's something he picked up on the cheap to do the video with. Demark street is only round the corner from where the video was shot

That is indeed a cheap prop guitar.

The entire album was recorded with his black Les Paul into a JCM800. Charvels werent until right around the Last In Line album. A few Aria Pro II's were used by then.

By all accounts that I have read though, that red guitar is a cheap prop guitar.

I remember seeing that video on MTV when it first came out. Back then, I didn't know much about stage vs. recording vs. video. I thought he actually used that red guitar on the recording. I also remember thinking, "How is he getting that sound from that guitar?"

One his main stage guitars was a ZZ, black white split explorer type thing.
Im sure he had others.

So did I. I always figured that, even if they weren't playing live, they'd at least use the same guitars, and the lead singer would at least use the same sock stuffed down his pants.
