"What I Wanna Do" first better demo of the new record

This new band I'm creating with a college buddy. more alternative than my other thing. the singer from my other band has a kid and lately he's been really busy with him so things have been slow with that group.

so this band came from us being tired of not succeeding the way we want to with out "main" bands". it also came from a mutual love of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth and other bands like The Cranberries and Alice in Chains.

We have a plan, its like a 3 or 4 year plan: write the best songs we can, play them as well as we can and move to Miami (or NYC, or LA, or Seattle). I know how that sounds, but we really want to do this.

this band is also a 3 piece, which im psyched about. all my favorite bands have been 3 pieces.

So this song is more of a sonic youth kind of thing, as opposed to a band like, say, Pearl Jam.

edit: the girl is the singer for Paramore.

I like the fact that I got to look at Hayley Williams for two and a half minutes.

Oh, and the demo of the song-thingy was kind of cool too.
I liked the thingy starting around 1:15.

The demo? Well, if it had aggressive, second finger style Fender Jazz Bass, obscenely powerful drumming and high pitched vocals, it would be in danger of metamorphosing into something by a Canadian trio of whom you might have heard; Rush, circa Vapor Trails

Make the vocals a bit psychotic, add some crazy dance moves and I would say Joy Division.

im happy to hear that. I did something in Open G yesterday too, im very fond of that tuning.
