Re: what is it?

there's nothing stamped there under the wire? Do you know if it came stock in a guitar?

Have you contacted Dimarzio yet?

My friend told me that it was in a Ace Frehley Budokan. The super distortion from the same guitar seems to be genuine to me. But this.. don' t know. I have doubts. And yes I wrote a mail this morning (Italy time) to DiMarzio. Waiting for reply

Re: what is it?

Yeah spec sheet just says 'PAF-Style dimarzio' for neck and middle, so they maybe something just for this guitar?

In the purest gibson style. Always inaccurate. Paf-Style di marzio means nothing or everything. The Ace Frehley Budokan is a custom shop guitar not a low end guitar. It's a limited run and it's not acceptable they don't know what pickups are in it. The very first run of that guitar was limited to 300. And the specs reported 2 super distortion and one dual sound. But, at the end, any of the owners found they had DiMarzio PAFs (DP103), instead of DP100 / DP101 combination. In fact, some guitars have all DP103s, some have all DP100s, some have all DP101s. Most have a combination of all three pickup types.

Re: what is it?

Had the reply from DiMarzio customer service. The pickup is a OEM Paf produced by DiMarzio for Gibson. Then I asked if it sounds more like DP103 or 36th ann. They replied that is more similar to the Air Classic neck model.
