Good Work.
Always check the simple stuff first. :)

Thanks. I wouldn't have known to check out anything without the help of this forum! I really appreciate everyone's wise words of advice. (Except for the "dump it on someone else before it dies" comment, but live and let live.)

I took an amp in for repair 30 years ago and did not have a good experience, so I am hoping to avoid that process this time around.

One more (hopefully last!) question: do I want a "contact cleaner" or a "cleaner/lubricant" for the potentiometers? Or "fader lube"?

i use deoxit cleaner and it works great but a generic contact cleaner is fine. lubricant is fine but doesnt clean, just makes things move smoothly and can gunk up if there is crud in there

Yeah...kind of a split decision.
Techs use Deoxit5 and the (L)100 with lube.
I use the 5 with no lube and all seems fine.
As Jeremy says...any brand is good. Radio Shack use to sell good cleaner.
good luck
